We have the most common questions asked about your new eyelash extensions. If you do not see your question here, contact me and I will do the best that I can to give you an answer ASAP.
Q: How long do eyelashes normally last?
A: Most extensions will stay for about four to eight weeks depending on the care by the client. It is normal to lose about one to four lashes a day, which is why a filling every two to three weeks is recommended. How one decides to treat and care for their lashes will determine the duration before the next filling.
Q: Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
A: When applied correctly, the extension will not damage the natural lash. Professional artists will apply the correct weight and length to each lash to prevent breakage or damage.
Q: Can I wear make-up with my extensions?
A: You can definitely wear makeup with extensions, but try to use oil-free products. If using products that are not oil-free, be sure to use a cleanser that is safe for your lashes to remove any residue. For recommendations on products, ask Carolina Cotter.
Q: I want my extensions removed. What do I do?
A: Do not attempt to take the extensions off yourself. Contact Carolina for professional removal.
Q: How can I treat my lashes so they last longer?
A: Review the “Everything you need to know about extensions” blog. Follow the basic rules suggested such as no water in contact with eyes in the first 24 hours following the application. Use oil-free products around the eyes. Be gentle with the extensions and around the eyes. If makeup is needed, try best to stick to the oil-free products, as this will allow them to last longer than wearing other makeup products.
Q: How long does the application process take?
A: Normally, a full set of lashes will take about 120-150 minutes. After the initial appointment, fillings can take anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the amount of additional lashes needed.
Q: Can you describe the application process?
A: The application takes place in a reclining bed. The eyelash extension will be placed on one by one while the client’s eyes are shut. There will be no discomfort or pain in the process. Most clients will describe the process as relaxing.
Q: Is there a trial available?
A: Located on my services page on the website, there is a Consult application available. A consult is an application of lashes that involves 10-15 lashes per eye so the client is able to get a “feel” of what the lashes will appear as, and is also used to test for allergies and reactions.
Q: How much do lashes cost?
A: The pricing for lash extensions vary. The amount of lashes applied determines the cost, which can vary anywhere between $250- $350. Fillings of lashes after the initial application can vary between $60- $110. See “Services” page for more details
